Biographies
Thomas L. Bird is the president of Bird Wealth Management LLC, a financial advisory firm, as well as Thomas L. Bird & Associates, P.A., a law firm practicing commercial law, income tax planning for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and estates, estate planning, and business succession planning for family-owned businesses. Mr. Bird’s expertise in comprehensive wealth management is a result of his work for 30 years in estate planning, income tax strategies, risk management, business succession, retirement planning and investment selection.
Before starting his own law and investment practices, Mr. Bird served as Director of Business Succession and Estate Planning at SUPERVALU and provided income and estate taxation as well as business succession planning services to independent grocery retailers. He is a regular speaker before a variety of groups, including the National Grocer’s Association, supermarket retailers, and in-house SUPERVALU seminars for accounting managers, area marketing directors, and retail business consultants. An attorney with an LL.M. in tax, Mr. Bird is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Catherine Shreves is a lawyer and partner in Bird Wealth Management, a financial advisory firm, as well as Thomas L. Bird & Associates, P.A., a law firm practicing commercial law, income tax planning for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and estates, estate planning, and business succession planning for family-owned businesses. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER tm professional.
She has her LL.M. in tax and has practiced law at Thomas L. Bird & Associates, P.A. since its inception in 1997. In addition to her legal and financial work, Ms. Shreves has been a community leader in Minneapolis for 20 years, and has served as President of the League of Women Voters of Minneapolis, Chair of the Minneapolis School Board, and currently serves on the Board of the Minneapolis Foundation.
She is a member of the Minnesota Bar Association and Hennepin County Bar Association.
